About The Position

The Electrical Operations Field Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that enhance the knowledge, skills, and safety practices of field employees. This role ensures that all field personnel, from helpers to superintendents, are equipped with the technical expertise, operational processes, and company standards required to perform their work effectively, safely, and in alignment with Tri-City’s core values. This position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities per the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc.
  • A minimum of 10 years of field experience in the electrical trade, with at least five (5) years in a superintendent role.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC codes, electrical installation practices, and construction safety standards.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications, and applicable Local and National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, training platforms, and field technology.
  • Ability to evaluate performance gaps and translate them into practical training solutions.
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently to project sites and divisions statewide.
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct hands-on training sessions for electrical field employees, including QuickStart programming, installation techniques, and code compliance.
  • Develop and facilitate onboarding orientations for new Superintendents.
  • Organize and deliver training classes for Superintendents and Foremen, focusing on the scope of work, job responsibilities, and leadership expectations.
  • Conduct recurring classes on NEC code updates and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Operations Leadership, Safety, and Leadership Development teams to identify training needs and align programs with manpower planning, project requirements, and company standards.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback, testing, and field observations; refine curriculum for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical resource to field employees, supporting career growth and long-term leadership development.
  • Support rollout and adoption of new tools, processes, and technologies (e.g., prefabrication methods, Project Sight, Kojo, BIM/VDC integration).
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to integrate training into employee development pathways and performance management processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure all training promotes a culture of safety and aligns with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and client-specific requirements.
  • Travel regularly to jobsites and company divisions across Florida to deliver consistent training and on-site support.
