About The Position

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for electrical systems in industrial or MEP construction projects. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and competitive proposals. The position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in estimating software, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to interpret electrical construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, Autobid, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven bid environments with shifting priorities.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating within industrial or MEP construction.
  • Experience preparing estimates for complex electrical systems, including power distribution, switchgear, controls, and mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, or advanced industrial construction projects is strongly preferred.
  • Experience estimating electrical scopes for large-scale, fast-track projects with high coordination requirements.
  • Familiarity with EPC or design-build project environments, including integrated MEP scopes and multi-discipline coordination.
  • Established relationships with electrical subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors within the region or industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents for electrical systems.
  • Develop complete estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing, ensuring alignment with project scope and schedule requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, fabrication, and project controls teams to validate scope, constructability, and execution strategy.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and assemble vendor and subcontractor pricing, ensuring competitiveness and completeness of all bid components.
  • Participate in scope reviews, risk identification, and value engineering efforts to support competitive and accurate proposals.
  • Prepare, present, and support change order proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and coordination with clients for approval.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to support ongoing business development and project success.
