About The Position

The Estimator performs the day-to-day operations of electrical estimating. Develops cost estimates from take-off stage to bid hand-off. Performs site inspections to fully determine the labor and materials needs. Analyzes material, labor requirements, and general conditions to complete a project. Attends pre-bid and scope review meetings. Computes and submits bids. Interprets the specifications and blueprints to determine design intent. Coordinates with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project Managers. Manages quotation process with vendors. Determines equipment needs. Maintains up-to-date information in Opportunity Tracker. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Electrical construction estimating experience
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Knowledge of and direct experience in estimating software. Accubid Enterprise preferred
  • Ability to read and evaluate specifications and blueprints
  • Ability to perform computer-based take-offs
  • Ability to complete estimates using technology, e.g., Bluebeam, LiveCount, BIM models
  • Adhere to Estimating department standards
  • Assess and quantify risks based on opportunity type
  • Estimate projects from $100k to $100M+
  • Collaborate on complex estimates with estimating team members
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain composure under deadlines and external pressure
  • Comfortable working within a transparent work environment
  • Ability to confidently discuss and develop budgets based on estimated opportunities
  • Effective communication skills, oral and written
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Pre-employment drug screen required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or technical training in related field, preferred
