About The Position

Join Premier Automation as an Electrical Estimator and help develop accurate, competitive solutions for industrial electrical and drive system projects. You’ll review customer requirements, design practical system concepts, size components, create single-line diagrams and bills of material, and prepare professional estimates and proposals. Based in Monroeville, PA, Premier Automation designs and builds custom control panels, motor control systems, drives, and industrial automation solutions for manufacturers worldwide. This role works closely with customers, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and vendors to support technically sound, profitable projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent industry experience
  • 2+ years of relevant electrical, estimating, applications, sales, or automation experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and single-line diagrams
  • Experience with system design, component sizing, BOMs, estimates, or technical proposals
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project profitability
  • Clear communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software

Responsibilities

  • Review RFQs, customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements
  • Develop preliminary electrical system designs and single-line diagrams
  • Size and select drives, motors, transformers, breakers, and other major components
  • Create bills of material and obtain vendor pricing and lead times
  • Estimate material, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and project costs
  • Prepare competitive pricing and professional technical proposals
  • Clearly define project scope, assumptions, exclusions, and technical risks
  • Coordinate with customers, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and vendors
  • Support the handoff of awarded projects to Engineering and project teams
  • Maintain accurate estimating records, pricing, and proposal documentation
