About The Position

We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in our Atlanta, GA office. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent, with MEP Electrical Subcontractor Estimating Experience.
  • 3-7 years of electrical estimating experience specific to medium and low voltage systems and associated special systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems concepts, practices, and procedures; considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation for estimations.
  • Experience leading a team of electrical estimators.
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electrical commercial trade software such as Accubid Anywhere or Accubid Classic.
  • Working knowledge of electrical estimating manuals and guidelines, such as NECA.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to change, and present ideas clearly.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead teams, provide constructive feedback, and encourage high performance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate electrical trades, including medium and low voltage systems and associated systems.
  • Prepare mechanical cost estimates from the conceptual phase through the final construction documents.
  • Review and validate subcontractor proposal pricing and change orders.
  • Develop value analysis by identifying cost-efficient alternatives to proposed scopes.
  • Support meetings with owners, architects, and engineers for all aspects of the cost phase.
  • Lead electrical cost efforts in core markets: Data Centers, Aviation, Higher Education, Corporate/Commercial Office, and Laboratories.
  • Perform material takeoff, input data into computerized cost models, and apply electrical estimating manuals and guidelines.
  • Prepare comparative cost analysis and explain variances to project stakeholders.
  • Communicate with electrical equipment vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Manage, train, and mentor junior electrical estimators.
  • Represent Holder at coordination meetings and industry events, maintaining positive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Provide internal communication among departments and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed MEP analyses of subcontractor and vendor bid proposals with recommendations.
  • Own the creation, updating, and presentation of project cost deliverables and tools to clients.
