The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed, production-level electrical estimates, primarily for hyperscale data centers and mission-critical infrastructure. This includes large-scale power distribution, redundancy systems, and campus developments. The role involves performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing project documents, utilizing estimating software, supporting bid pursuits, evaluating subcontractor pricing, identifying risks, and collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure accurate and competitive submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent trade experience in a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction estimating, with exposure to mission-critical or data center environments preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems relevant to large-scale facilities, including power distribution, redundancy design concepts, and high-capacity infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics; perform accurate quantity takeoffs; and develop estimates in a structured, production-driven environment.
  • Experience using Accubid Anywhere or comparable electrical estimating software; familiarity with integrated estimating systems such as BEST is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of bid preparation processes, subcontractor and supplier pricing strategies, and multiple project delivery methods including GMP and design-build.
  • Understanding of market conditions, pricing factors, and construction methodologies relevant to high-volume, fast-paced pursuits.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to support cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Exposure to mission-critical or data center environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with integrated estimating systems such as BEST is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed, production-level electrical estimates with a primary focus on hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects, including large-scale power distribution, redundancy systems, and campus-style developments.
  • Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs for labor, equipment, and materials using structured estimating workflows aligned with the Data Center Center of Excellence (DC CoE).
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents (including one-lines and electrical distribution systems) to validate scope requirements for complex, fast-paced pursuits.
  • Utilize Accubid Anywhere and integrated estimating platforms, including BEST, to build, maintain, and refine estimate models in accordance with standardized processes.
  • Support bid pursuits through preparing and populating tender documentation, generating RFIs, coordinating input across estimating contributors, and contributing to pursuit schedules and deliverables.
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, with a focus on electrical systems and data center–specific components.
  • Identify and assess risks related to scope, constructability, schedule, and market conditions; apply contract knowledge to highlight pricing considerations and opportunities.
  • Maintain organized estimate documentation to support accurate handoff to project teams and alignment with internal processes.
  • Participate in bid-day activities and support the closeout of estimate deliverables across multiple scopes.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and competitive submissions.
