About The Position

Merit Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. This position plays a critical role in our continued growth by accurately estimating projects, securing profitable work, and successfully managing projects from award through completion. We are looking for a motivated professional who has strong electrical construction knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on experience using Accubid estimating software. Merit Electric is a premier electrical contractor servicing new construction for the independent living industry. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of electrical estimating and/or project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Accubid Estimating Software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician background.
  • Experience with commercial and industrial electrical construction.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Develop project budgets and schedules.
  • Manage awarded projects from kickoff through closeout.
  • Coordinate with customers, field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Track project costs, change orders, and job profitability.
  • Attend project meetings and site visits as required.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and industry partners.
