Electrical Estimator / Project Manager
About The Position
Merit Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. This position plays a critical role in our continued growth by accurately estimating projects, securing profitable work, and successfully managing projects from award through completion. We are looking for a motivated professional who has strong electrical construction knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on experience using Accubid estimating software. Merit Electric is a premier electrical contractor servicing new construction for the independent living industry. Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of electrical estimating and/or project management experience.
- Proficiency with Accubid Estimating Software.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and National Electrical Code requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Nice To Haves
- Journeyman or Master Electrician background.
- Experience with commercial and industrial electrical construction.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Develop project budgets and schedules.
- Manage awarded projects from kickoff through closeout.
- Coordinate with customers, field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Track project costs, change orders, and job profitability.
- Attend project meetings and site visits as required.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and industry partners.
