About The Position

FPM Remediations, Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electrical & Equipment Technician to support environmental remediation, utility installation, excavation, treatment system construction, and facility infrastructure projects based in Lubbock, TX. This position combines hands-on electrical installation and troubleshooting responsibilities with operation of heavy construction equipment used to support groundwater remediation, utility construction, treatment plant installation, and environmental restoration projects. The Electrical & Equipment Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, pumps, and associated infrastructure while also operating heavy equipment to support site development and utility installation activities. Work must be performed in accordance with contract documents, applicable electrical codes, environmental protection requirements, and federal construction safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in electrical construction, industrial electrical maintenance, controls, instrumentation, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, construction plans, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices, troubleshooting techniques, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Ability to operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, loaders, and similar construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Working knowledge of motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), instrumentation, PLC systems, and industrial controls.
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including 10-hour days and occasional weekends as project requirements dictate.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, drug screening, and health and safety training requirements, including project-specific site orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with installation and troubleshooting of motors, motor controls, pumps, instrumentation, and control systems preferred.
  • Experience with environmental remediation, utility construction, water/wastewater systems, or industrial facilities preferred.
  • Experience working on federal construction projects preferred.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
  • OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Electrical trade certifications, NCCER credentials, crane/rigging certifications, or equipment operator certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems associated with groundwater extraction systems, injection systems, treatment plants, pumping systems, utilities, and support facilities.
  • Install conduit, wiring, panels, motor controls, instrumentation, sensors, control systems, and related electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, construction drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform testing and commissioning of electrical equipment, motors, pumps, controls, and instrumentation systems.
  • Assist with installation and startup of treatment system components, including pumps, motors, PLC-based controls, telemetry systems, and chemical feed equipment.
  • Operate construction equipment including excavators, backhoes, skid steers, loaders, and dump trucks to support excavation, trenching, grading, utility installation, and site development activities.
  • Support installation of underground piping, conduit, extraction and injection wells, vaults, and related infrastructure.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs on assigned equipment and project systems.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transportation of equipment and construction materials.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and comply with project-specific Health and Safety Plans, EM 385-1-1 requirements, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Coordinate work activities with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical systems including pumps, valves, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
