About The Position

This is a small, veteran-owned aerospace and defense manufacturer with over a decade of consistent growth. The company designs and produces specialized electronic lighting systems for military and aerospace applications — work that demands real technical precision and offers exposure most technicians at larger firms never see. You are not running the same assembly line process every day. Projects vary, programs rotate, and the team is small enough that your contributions are visible and recognized. For a hands-on technologist who has been stuck in a narrow support role at a larger organization, this is a chance to work across the full build cycle — from prototype assembly and testing through production support and engineering troubleshooting. The culture is mission-oriented, non-bureaucratic, and built around people who take ownership of their work. Strong candidates have a clear path to grow into broader engineering responsibilities over time.

Requirements

  • Hands-on electronics or electrical technologist background — bench-level experience is the priority here
  • PCB assembly and soldering experience — IPC certification or hands-on proficiency required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Solid troubleshooting instincts — comfortable diagnosing circuit and assembly issues independently
  • Self-directed work style — this role supports engineering but requires independent execution

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with power supply design or board layout concepts is a strong plus
  • Experience working within or supporting an AS9100D / aerospace quality environment preferred
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred — strong candidates without a degree considered with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Photometric measurement or LED/lighting product experience
  • NVIS or military/aerospace lighting familiarity
  • Some exposure to SolidWorks or P-SPICE
  • Military background or experience in a defense-adjacent environment

Responsibilities

  • Assembling and soldering PCBs to IPC standards across prototype and production programs
  • Troubleshooting electrical assemblies, schematics, and wiring to support engineering efforts
  • Supporting board layout, prototype builds, product testing, and manufacturing startup activities
  • Assisting in BOM development, parts sourcing, and equipment specification
  • Preparing documentation including specifications, calculations, and drawings for electrical designs
  • Supporting quality assurance activities per AS9100D aerospace standards
  • Working directly alongside engineering staff to execute multiple concurrent programs

Benefits

  • 401(k) offered
