The Ultra Engineering function manages a portfolio of specialist capabilities, generating highly differentiated solutions and products by applying electronic, mechanical, and software technologies in demanding and critical environments to meet customer needs. The Electrical Engineering Technologist Team Lead will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team developing new and innovative electronics solutions to meet customer needs. The Electrical Engineering Technologist Team Lead supports many aspects of product development including design, build, and testing.

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
10+ years of industry experience.
Ability to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles
Candidate must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in electrical design, including wiring diagrams and PCB layouts.
Familiarity with electronic lab equipment, such a oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
Experience testing and troubleshooting circuit cards.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Soldering (IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred)
Willingness to travel within Canada, US and Overseas

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, build, and testing of electrical systems and components.
Prepare and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of electrical equipment.
Document and report on project progress, including preparing technical reports and presentations.
Mentor and support members of the tech team.
Provide technical guidance and quality oversight.
Work with the functional manager to develop training plans for members of the tech team.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering technology.
