About The Position

HDR is seeking an Electrical Team Lead to join their fast-growing Building Engineering Services Group (BES) in Milwaukee or Madison, Wisconsin. The BES group provides industry-leading mechanical, electrical, plumbing, site civil, structural, and specialty design services for a wide variety of buildings across public, municipal, private, and government project types, with projects ranging from local to global. The team has expertise in market areas such as Healthcare, Datacenters, Science and Technology, Commercial Real Estate, Finance, Hospitality, Industrial, Municipal, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Federal facilities. The Electrical Team Lead will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of electrical engineers, EITs, and designers, fostering technical excellence, quality, recruiting, and staff development. This role involves collaboration with fellow Team Leads and the Electrical Business Class Lead on work staffing and project proposals, functioning as a design lead or engineering project manager for key projects, and implementing company policies. The position also requires active participation in work-sharing and electrical practice development with a nationwide network and assisting in the recruitment and growth of the business class.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
A minimum of 7 years experience
Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
Strong communication and listening skills
Ability to handle multiple assignments
Good leadership and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis.
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
Preference given to local candidates.

Responsibilities

Assist the Electrical Business Class Lead with management and culture of the overall business class by being the direct supervisor of a team of electrical engineers, EITs and designers with varying degree of experience
Work as a collaborative team with fellow Team Leads and the Electrical Business Class Lead for work staffing and project proposals
Provide team leadership with a focus on technical excellence, quality, recruiting, mentoring, and staff development
Collaborate closely with electrical market sector leadership to ensure technical excellence in all key markets including commercial, civic, industrial, federal, water, transportation, healthcare, education and laboratories and mission critical facilities
Function as design lead or engineering project manager for key projects.
Implement, monitor, and support company policy
Works collaboratively with other team leads, business class lead, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
Actively encourage and participate in work-sharing and electrical practice development with a nation-wide network of HDR Electrical Business Class
Assist the Electrical Business Class Lead in the recruitment and growth of the business class
Perform other duties as needed
