About The Position

Beta Engineering is seeking Electrical Engineering Technicians (EET) to assist project engineers with the layout and design of high voltage substations, switchyards, power quality projects, transmission lines, and other high voltage production and distribution projects. EETs will generate and review internal project drawings, one-line drawings, three-line drawings, AC/DC schematics, and wiring diagrams. They will also generate required calculations and cable schedule documents. EETs work as part of a project team to complete these tasks in accordance with project requirements and schedule. Beta Engineering is part of the Crest Industries family of companies and focuses on engineering, procuring, and constructing (EPC) projects in the utility, industrial, and renewable energy markets, aiming to strengthen the power grid through risk reduction and innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical certification as an Electrical Engineering Technician or an Associate Degree
• Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Clean driving record
• Ability to perform duties safely and to adhere to each job site’s safety requirements
• Must have a successful Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Engineering Technology
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Microstation
• Knowledge of CDEGS grounding software

Responsibilities

• Generates new and makes corrections to existing one-lines, panel elevations, AC/DC/Communication schematics, relay panel wiring diagrams and equipment wiring diagrams
• Makes other changes and corrections to drawings as instructed
• Performs batch plotting of project drawings in preparation for delivery to customer
• Performs various calculations for cabling, battery sizing, lighting design, AC load and ground grid
• Generates cable scheduling
• Demonstrates integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications
• Recognizes and recommends methods to improve every customer’s experience
