About The Position

The Conventional Prompt Strike Test Facility (CTF III) contract supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Weapons and Energetics Department in China Lake, CA, and Crane, IN. Amentum is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging research and development environment in support of one of our nation’s top defense priorities. The one-of-a-kind test program is perpetually in a state of test execution, planning, and integration in preparation for the next test series. This program is fast-paced and requires initiative, teamwork, and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization. The team is multi-organizational, and skills span from senior program managers to engineers, to on-site technicians, logistics, budget, and everything in between. The environment is fast-paced and demands attention to detail while never losing sight of the big picture. An Electrical Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in supporting electrical engineers in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • Electrical testing and troubleshooting
  • Schematic reading and interpretation
  • Use of diagnostic tools and meters
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage many competing priorities simultaneously
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • Please note that US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in DOD-related test programs is preferred
  • Proven ability to conduct independent work requiring technical and operational judgment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and checkout of electrical systems
  • Recommend changes to cognizant engineers to improve system performance
  • Set up and conduct tests on electrical components and systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
  • Install wiring, control systems, and electrical components
  • Maintain and calibrate electrical instruments and machinery
  • Ensure systems comply with safety and regulatory standards
  • Operate diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other technicians
  • Provide feedback on design improvements and system performance
