Electrical Engineering Manager

About The Position

This role is responsible for leading the End of Life (EOL) MEP project teams, managing deadlines for deliverables, reviewing work, and signing projects as necessary. A strong technical background in power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems, combined with the leadership skills to manage both personnel and complex engineering projects from conception through construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design for buildings (commercial, public schools, healthcare, or higher education).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
  • Deep understanding of current building codes and standards relevant to the design of electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in construction documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple Engineering Programs for a variety of project types including but not limited to the End Of Life Program.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of each program (EOL 30% Team and EOL 60-90% Team), including both technical and personnel management.
  • Mentor and assist in the professional development of junior engineers and designers.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant building codes and standards.
  • Design and draft complex electrical systems, including power distribution (208V, 240V, and 480V three-phase systems), lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create comprehensive construction documents.
  • Perform detailed electrical calculations, including lighting levels, voltage drop, and load analysis.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and coordination studies (Arc-Flash/Short-Circuit/Selective Coordination).
  • Conduct detailed field investigations of existing facility electrical systems.
  • Directly interface with owners, architects, and facility employees to ensure project goals are met.
  • Actively participate in business development initiatives and acquire new projects through client networking.
  • Lead the preparation and writing of engineering proposals.
  • Provide construction administration services, including shop drawing reviews, substantial and final completion reports, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee lighting control system commissioning and other field-related technical support.
