About The Position

Clark Dietz internships provide a great opportunity to apply academic learning to real world engineering projects through hands on experience. Interns also participate in group activities throughout the summer to learn about the engineering profession, technical areas, and career paths. As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will work as part of a team in the field on a variety of municipal infrastructure and roadway projects. Duties will include assisting with arc flash survey work, and participating in design projects for power distribution, lighting, and special systems for a variety of markets segments.

Requirements

  • Declared major in Electrical Engineering with an interest in Civil engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
  • Ability to research specifications and codes as needed.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations to compute quantities, verify measurements, and organize and analyze data.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks with guidance from other staff.
  • Good communication and listening skills with the ability to ask insightful questions and learn and apply new skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel & Word) is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle for commuting to project sites is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience using power system analysis software (SKM).
  • Previous experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley ORD, MicroStation).
  • Previous experience using Revit.

Responsibilities
