About The Position

Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering students to join our Westlake office in 2027. This is not a remote position. Responsibilities include utilizing technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients, solving complex problems, assisting project managers, and collaborating across disciplines. Interns will develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and client practices, procedures, and standards. They will perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project managers and support the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on large scale HVAC design. Project types may include Airports, Facilities, Universities, and more.

Requirements

  • In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project managers as required.
  • Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on large scale HVAC design.
