About The Position

The 2027 Summer Internship Program at The Toro Company (TTC) offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in electrical engineering. The program runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027, and requires candidates to be available for the entire duration. TTC, a company with over 100 years of history and more than 11,000 employees worldwide, is a leader in designing and manufacturing a wide range of equipment for turf maintenance, irrigation, landscape, snow management, and underground construction. The company markets its products globally through various channels, including distributors, dealers, mass retailers, and online. This internship provides a chance to work on real product development, guided by experienced engineers, and participate in various company activities.

Requirements

Majoring in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Strong desire to learn, collaborate, and effectively communicate in a team setting while achieving a common goal.
Ability to stay organized and able to use Microsoft Office programs without much direction.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be available to start on May 17, 2027, and participate through the duration of the program (August 6, 2027).

Nice To Haves

Completed junior-level courses preferred.
Analog circuit design.
Digital circuit design.
ARM microcontrollers.
PCB design.
C programming.
Python or similar Scripting Language.

Responsibilities

Create a specification for the product.
Schematic capture and circuit design.
PCB layout with the help of one of Toro’s PCB designers.
Test the finished product in the lab using tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
Support a current team project.
Potentially participate in a vendor visit or trip to Toro manufacturing plant(s).
Depending upon the candidate, some scripting in Python or similar language.
