About The Position

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working alongside experienced engineers and consultants on real project work. In this role, you'll support documentation, coordination, job site observations, and project progress while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will contribute to hospitality-focused building projects supported by a broader MEP team, while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

Requirements

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings
  • Assist with design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards
  • Research commercially available equipment and resources
  • Support client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files
  • Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams
  • Document design decisions, meetings, client instructions, and project progress promptly
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final check
  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services required by the contract services agreement
  • Work within project budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
