About The Position

JT is seeking Electrical Engineering students for a Summer 2027 internship in its Madison or Milwaukee-area offices. Interns gain hands-on experience working with industry professionals on real-world projects that support communities and infrastructure. The role contributes to electrical engineering design and analysis and involves project research, documentation, field activities, and collaboration with project teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, with at least two years of coursework completed.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, including accuracy, thoroughness, organization, monitoring work quality, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to concentrate on complex problems for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle for travel between jobsites.
• Ability to physically perform work in the field.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the country where the position is located, without time limitations, restrictions, or the need for work sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical engineering design and analysis for a variety of projects.
• Assist with preparing electrical plans, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and data collection activities.
• Learn and apply electrical engineering principles related to power distribution, lighting, communications, and other building or infrastructure systems.
• Support project teams with research, engineering studies, and technical documentation.
• Assist in developing project cost estimates and material quantity takeoffs.
• Help maintain project files, records, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to deliver high-quality work.
