About The Position

Participate in a comprehensive summer internship program in an aerospace and defense environment, gaining hands-on experience alongside industry experts. Contribute to real-world company projects and develop technical and professional skills through mentoring, cross-functional workshops, and direct project involvement. The role is within the ISR, Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area, which integrates manned and unmanned aircraft systems and provides end-to-end C4ISR capabilities, including design, integration, testing, certification, training, and logistics support.

Requirements

• Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in college or technical school, with at least six months remaining until graduation after the internship ends.
• Be currently enrolled in a university or college program pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and work ethic; detail oriented.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for the position.
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
• Proficiency with computers and office equipment.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools and technical equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in a laboratory or workshop environment that may involve loud noise or hazardous conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Prior internship or work experience in a technical or engineering role.
• Familiarity with the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Basic knowledge of engineering software tools such as CAD or MATLAB.
• Microsoft Access skills.
• Pursuing a degree in engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical projects and complete assigned tasks that contribute to team objectives.
• Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret technical data to support engineering decisions.
• Attend planning meetings to understand project requirements, timelines, and team goals.
• Perform hands-on technical work assignments to gain practical experience and build technical skills.
• Work closely with team members, learn from their expertise, and apply that learning to ongoing projects.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and support implementation of best practices.
• Participate in workshops to learn about the business and company culture.
