About The Position

As an Electrical Engineer at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC), you will be part of a large network of engineering professionals. Our team designs, develops, and manufactures precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. You will be responsible for supporting engineers from other Lockheed Martin sites in failure investigation and troubleshooting, leading failure investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action, and providing technical disposition/recommendation for production hardware. This role involves working closely with an engineering lead to provide technical oversight and monitoring of a major subcontractor and related sub-tier subcontractors, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues related to PAC-3 missile electronics to support contractual delivery schedules, and providing engineering support to Failure Review Board (FRB) and associated engineering evaluations. You will also review supplier proposed engineering changes, present them to the LM Change board, and manage them through the LM approval process. The position requires working in a collaborative Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, representing LM in several IPTs, and understanding hardware obsolescence to communicate with suppliers about potential obstacles to maintaining production levels. The role drives technical excellence, affordability, and program execution by supporting program development, executing program requirements, and adhering to engineering development processes. Travel to Lockheed Martin production facilities, supplier’s facilities, and customer facilities is required, as well as some lab work on site at the Grand Prairie facility for hardware support.

Requirements

  • Experience with troubleshooting Analog and Digital Electronics
  • Working knowledge of lab equipments such as Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMM, signal Generators, spectrum analyzers
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college with at least 2 years of professional experience; or a related Masters degree.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of time domestically.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Prior experience of PAC-3 program, Production processes, Failure Investigation, Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
  • Knowledge of developing BOEs, reviewing suppliers’ BOEs.
  • Certified or working knowledge of CAM.
  • Experience working with suppliers and leading suppliers during failure investigation.
  • Strong background in cross-discipline systems engineering practices including requirements development/maintenance, architecture, hardware/software design, integration and verification.
  • Knowledge or Experience in risk management and earned value management is desired.

Responsibilities
