About The Position

This is an onsite Electrical Engineer role located in the Greater Cincinnati area. The position provides Electrical Engineering support for department projects, including creating electrical cabinet designs based on KM standards and customer requirements. Responsibilities also include providing support to customers and service technicians for electrical issues, guiding new designs and control and drive componentry, and leading new equipment design or improvements to current products. The role involves general oversight of electrical design and assembly personnel, planning and implementing electrical project assignments, assisting with manpower estimates and work schedules, and recommending changes in methods, design, or equipment. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical integration of automation and vision systems, robots, etc., into KM standard equipment, assisting the production floor with electrical drawing updates, BOM changes, and troubleshooting, and participating in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical cabinets. The role also requires generating schematics, layouts, and BOMs in CAD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field and 2 to 3 years’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical codes and related regulations.
  • Design competence of electrical circuits by use of AutoCAD systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PowerFlex Drive systems and AC motors as well as general programming skills a plus.
  • Knowledge of Yaskawa Drive systems a plus.
  • Familiar with UL, CSA, NFPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Previous experience in capital equipment design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Create electrical cabinet designs for machine orders, based on KM standards and customer requirements where required.
  • Provide support to customers and service technicians as it relates to electrical issues.
  • Provide guidance on new designs and control and drive componentry
  • Lead new equipment design and/or improvements to current product.
  • Apply general oversight of electrical design and assembly personnel.
  • Plan and implement electrical project assignments together with department management.
  • Assist in estimating manpower requirements, plan and monitor work schedules to meet timely completion.
  • Recommend changes in methods and design or equipment when necessary.
  • Responsible for the electrical integration of automation and vision systems, robots, etc. into KM standard equipment.
  • Assist production floor with electrical drawing updates, BOM changes, troubleshooting, etc. as needed.
  • Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical cabinets as needed.
  • Responsible for generating schematics, layouts, BOMs, etc. in CAD
