About The Position

The Electrical Engineer will own critical electrical subsystems of DoorDash Air aircraft and ground systems. The role involves designing mechatronics systems from the ground up and producing designs intended to operate complex mechanisms in the field and in the air. The engineer will own electrical design while collaborating with firmware, systems, mechanical engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and reliability teams. The work supports DoorDash Air’s development and deployment of drone delivery systems, including high-reliability, high-power-density converters and fault-tolerant control electronics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience designing electronic circuits in highly cross-functional work environments.
Ability to design and bring up a board with a microcontroller.
Ability to integrate sensors and actuators and design mixed-signal circuitry supporting interfaces such as analog, SPI, CAN, or Ethernet.
Ability to own and prototype the entire electrical design of a small robotic system.
Ability to debug complex systems and identify issues caused by signal integrity, electromagnetic interference, firmware, or mechanical design.

Responsibilities

Design mechatronics systems from a blank sheet.
Own the electrical design of critical aircraft and ground-system subsystems.
Collaborate with firmware, systems, and mechanical engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and reliability teams.
Design and prototype the electrical system of a small robotic system.
Bring up circuit boards and integrate sensors and actuators.
Debug complex systems and identify issues related to signal integrity, electromagnetic interference, firmware, or mechanical design.
