About The Position

This position provides project and technical leadership in the development of AC & DC rotating equipment, ensuring the company’s leadership position in the market. The role involves product design and performance analysis, including electromagnetic analysis (ANSYS RMxprt/MotorCAD and Maxwell a plus), thermal loading, insulation systems, and power systems. The engineer will utilize First Principles in analyzing and evaluating designs, prototypes, and production units to support qualification, testing, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include developing performance testing protocols, evaluating results, and implementing product improvements for optimum performance, customer satisfaction, and cost objectives. The role also entails being an integral team member for new product development and modifications to meet customer requirements, providing technical assistance to sales, and supporting product quoting activities. This includes determining product applicability, developing cost-effective modifications, and creating new products for growth. The engineer will develop bills of materials and product costing using design and product data management tools (Solid Works, EPDM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (Visual) systems, ensuring accurate transfer of engineering data into the ERP system. Additionally, the role involves assisting or leading teams in problem identification, correction, and verification, and participating in Kaizen events to improve the value stream. This position requires access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NOFORN), necessitating proof of US Citizenship and an attestation against dual citizenship. Acceptable proof includes a US Passport, US Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate.

Requirements

  • BSEE
  • Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience
  • Reasonable knowledge of noise, vibration & harshness principles as applied to rotating machinery.
  • Reasonable knowledge of the various manufacturing processes used in motor production.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are essential to convey issues and progress on activities.
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical skills and problem-solver.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office Suite.
  • Must possess the ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently.
  • Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and have a strong customer focus.
  • Proof of US Citizenship and attestation that you do not have dual citizenship (to meet NOFORN requirement). Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Rotating machinery experience a plus
  • ANSYS RMxprt/MotorCAD and Maxwell a plus

  • Experience in a LEAN environment a plus

Responsibilities
