About The Position

SAIC is seeking an organized and motivated Electrical Engineer to support a fast-paced work environment with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division in Middleton, RI. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of electrical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication. The local Middletown office supports automated test equipment design, printed circuit board design (PCB), cable design, and acoustic system design. Support can vary from Research & Development to Production Support, tailoring both skills and interests of the prospective employee to fill the role. Our team is integral in developing present and future leading edge USN weapons systems capabilities. You will need broad engineering skillsets, well-developed work habits, and an eagerness and enthusiasm for solving engineering challenges. Your work will include the design, documentation and testing of a complex Automated Test Equipment (ATE).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for new designs and document results.
  • Design and document systems and circuits in Altium.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary collaborative environment with other groups of engineers, logisticians, technicians, and draftsman to ensure the design meets requirements.
  • Review specifications, requirements, schematics, bill of materials, mechanical drawings, and test plans created by senior engineering for accuracy.
  • Create/Review well documented notes of design changes to maintain version control of drawings.
  • Troubleshoot both large scale systems and individual system components or a larger scale system.
