About The Position

Eaton’s Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure - Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid office role based at our Raleigh, NC facility for candidates who live within 50 miles of the site. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only. Eaton’s Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure - Critical Power Solutions Division designs, manufactures, and supports power quality, energy storage, UPS, power distribution, and related products that help keep critical infrastructure operational. Our team supports data centers, businesses, electric vehicle charging stations, and other customers that depend on reliable power performance in demanding environments. This individual will provide engineering design support for power quality and energy storage products, including Engineer-to-Order solutions and custom manufacturing requirements. The Electrical Engineer will partner with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, safety agencies, and customers to develop product designs, resolve technical issues, and provide guidance on product performance and operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum one (1) year of electrical or mechanical engineering experience; internship experience will be considered.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with inverter theory, battery systems, protective devices, and power distribution.
  • Knowledge of three-phase power systems, power electronics, and power conversion topologies.
  • Experience supporting UPS, alternative energy, energy storage, power distribution, or related power quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Review assigned Engineer-to-Order (ETO) tasks and determine the final design to implement based on budget, performance requirements, and shipment timeline.
  • Develop required engineering documentation to support manufacturing, servicing, and product implementation.
  • Work closely with other engineers and cross-functional departments to formulate effective product designs and resolve technical challenges.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Eaton products, providing guidance to engineers, internal stakeholders, and key customers before and after the sale.
  • Provide engineering designs and technical guidance for power quality products, including UPS, alternative energy and energy storage systems, power distribution, and related products.
  • Participate in pre-sale and post-sale technical issue resolution to support customer needs and business objectives.
  • Work directly with safety agencies and implement designs that meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
