We're looking for a technically strong and solutions-focused Electrical Engineer to join our Energy team and contribute to the delivery of complex projects that support the evolving energy landscape. In this role, you'll work on a diverse range of projects including utility infrastructure, renewable energy, power generation, solar energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), interconnection projects, and other low-carbon energy initiatives, helping clients improve reliability, resiliency, and sustainability. You'll develop electrical designs, technical specifications, calculations, and construction documentation while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, utilities, contractors, and clients to deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions. From feasibility studies and detailed design through construction and commissioning support, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Experience with renewable energy facilities, power generation, solar installations, or utility interconnection projects is considered a strong asset. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of engineering consulting experience, preferably in the energy, utilities, or power sectors.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit for design and documentation; experience with power system analysis software is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and utility requirements.
  • Forward-thinking with a desire to continuously learn, develop technical expertise, and take on increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate technical designs, calculations, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Passion for the evolving energy sector and a desire to contribute to resilient, sustainable, and low-carbon energy infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with utility infrastructure, renewable energy, power generation, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or interconnection projects is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Seasoned professional individual contributor.
  • Delivers technical designs for projects of varying complexity that could involve technical complexity, high project value and multiple trades.
  • Independently creates conceptual designs, design specifications and assesses constructability and does so on a regular basis.
  • Independently develops standards and reports and can sign off on them.
  • Assists in creating project plans, participates in project planning and project management meetings and provides improvement recommendations to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Starts to peer review work of more junior engineers for conventional projects.
  • Completes own work within budgeted hours.
  • Ensures technical accuracy of deliverables.
  • Accountable for all designs through to construction completion.
  • Works independently in solving difficult and sometimes complex problems.
