Computational Physics, Inc. (CPI) is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer to support customers at the U.S. Naval Observatory (USNO) in Washington, D.C. The USNO is responsible for precise time and navigation products for the Department of Defense and other clients. This role involves providing test and validation support for critical time dissemination equipment, including the design and implementation of RF electronics, RF over fiber, and timing systems, and their integration into existing infrastructure. The position also requires validation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of atomic frequency standards, as well as investigating new methods for clock signal distribution and evaluating commercial clock technologies. The majority of the work will be performed on-site at USNO, with potential travel required within and outside the continental United States. An active SECRET security clearance is mandatory, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI clearance post-hiring. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with other CPI contractors and civilian members of the Precise Time Department, providing updates to the Clock Operations Division Chief.
