About The Position

Stevens Industries, Inc. a world-class manufacturer of wood and laminated products, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in the Teutopolis, IL area. This is a high impact, hands-on role where you will lead projects focused on electrical systems, automation, and controls, driving equipment efficiency and modernization across the plant. There is room for advancement into leadership roles or even in other departments of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Strong background in industrial automation, controls systems, and robotics integration
  • Experience working with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, VFDs, and motion control systems
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, controls, and industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship

  • Hands-on troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components used throughout our manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues on production machinery and coordinate timely repairs to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Lead and support automation initiatives including integration and optimization of robotics, PLCs, and advanced control systems.
  • Partner with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment — including highly automated and robotic systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement through automation and controls enhancements.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets safety standards, codes, and internal policies.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance staff on electrical and automation systems.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for electrical or automation-related issues.
