About The Position
As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, develop, and test the electrical systems and PCBAs that power Vale’s automated matcha machines. This role involves designing electrical schematics and PCB layouts, selecting and qualifying components, conducting design reviews, and developing electrical test plans. You will also collaborate with Firmware engineers on hardware/software co-design, ensure designs meet safety standards, and manage ECOs and documentation.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 4+ years of electrical engineering experience in product hardware development
- Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, or Cadence
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and motor drive circuits
- Hands-on experience with bench equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, and network analyzers
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with safety standards (UL, CE, or IEC)
Responsibilities
- Design electrical schematics and PCB layouts for Vale’s hardware systems
- Select and qualify components including power management ICs, microcontrollers, and sensors
- Conduct design reviews (schematic and layout) and lead PCB bring-up and validation
- Develop and execute electrical test plans and characterization studies
- Collaborate with Firmware engineers on hardware/software co-design
- Ensure designs meet relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage ECOs and maintain electrical documentation in PLM and design file systems
