Electrical Engineer, Power

Meta•Menlo Park, CA
•$173,000 - $245,000

About The Position

As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for applications ranging from consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams, contributing across the product or system lifecycle—from prototyping and feasibility studies to deployment and operational excellence. The role emphasizes technical rigor, rapid iteration, creative problem-solving, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 8 years of full-time professional experience in electrical design, including system-level architecture and integration.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in an electrical engineering domain such as power, display, sensors, infrastructure, high-speed interfaces, or analog/mixed-signal.
  • Documented experience delivering products or systems from concept through prototyping and validation to mass production or large-scale deployment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design, simulation, and analysis tools such as Cadence, Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Experience communicating technical decisions in writing and verbally to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including through design reviews, technical proposals, and cross-functional alignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience defining specifications and validating power connectors, cable assemblies, and fuses.
  • Experience evaluating power integrity.
  • Experience with the power delivery architecture of a major CPU supplier.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting power management interfaces such as PMBus, AVS, SVID, and SVI2.
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Power Electronics.
  • Experience in power delivery validation and DC-DC voltage regulator design, including control schemes, power-stage MOSFETs, magnetics, and decoupling; and hot-swap circuitry, including controller ICs, MOSFET load switches, and current-sense amplifiers.
  • Knowledge of Linux for testing and automation or script development.
  • Experience with the new product introduction (NPI) hardware design and deployment cycle.
  • Experience with end-to-end power delivery network design, simulation using tools such as SIMPLIS, Sigrity PowerDC/SI, ANSYS SIwave or equivalent, and board-level correlation.
  • Experience developing test automation for power validation.
  • Experience with low-voltage/high-current and high-voltage/high-current power subsystems for CPUs, GPUs, SoCs, ASICs, and/or FPGAs, including related schematic and PCB design.
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt/context engineering or agent orchestration, and keeping current with emerging AI technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and deliver measurable impact, such as efficiency gains or quality improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical development of highly complex systems or multiple subsystems, setting technical direction and architecture.
  • Define and drive electrical architecture, system integration, and technical strategy for major projects.
  • Lead cross-functional design reviews, resolve technical conflicts, and align engineering disciplines.
  • Identify and implement technologies, processes, or methodologies that improve system or product performance, reliability, and features.
  • Oversee hardware bring-up and debugging, and support manufacturing, assembly, deployment, or operational readiness at scale.
  • Evaluate and influence vendor and partner solutions to ensure alignment with Meta’s requirements and long-term strategy.
  • Mentor and coach engineers at all levels, fostering technical rigor and knowledge sharing.
  • Work autonomously, set direction for teams, and manage priorities across multiple projects or workstreams.
  • Collaborate across globally distributed teams and influence cross-organization initiatives and technical strategy.
  • Champion operational excellence, compliance, specialized requirements, continuous improvement, and best practices.
