Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field. (Required)
  • Experienced in electrical instrumentation, energy metering, or protection systems is a must.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, control systems, and electronics.
  • Ability to perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication abilities (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation habits.

Nice To Haves

  • Any of Power Metering / Protection Relays / Instrument Transformers is asset.
  • Background in metering, power distribution, automation, or electronics is preferred for certain industries.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical designs for projects of varying complexity that could involve technical complexity
  • Assists in creating project plans, participates in project planning and project management meetings and provides improvement recommendations to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met
  • Create production instruction documents (AutoCAD drawings, Assembly Work Instructions, etc.)
  • Instruct and supervise manufacturing workflow following product design and quality control requirements
  • Troubleshooting and solving any electrical system errors
  • Providing input over the design and development of equipment designs as they progress through the structural design process
  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of electrical generation and distribution networks, electrical machinery and components and electronic communications, instrumentation and control systems, equipment, and components
  • Prepare material cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
  • Design electrical and electronic circuits, components, systems and equipment
  • Conduct micro or nanodevices simulations, characterization, process modeling and integration in the development of new electronic devices and products
  • Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment
  • Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems and equipment
  • Investigate electrical or electronic failures
  • Prepare accurate technical documentation
  • Present complex electrical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute to user manuals and compliance documentation related to products
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety compliance with health and safety laws and regulations
  • Follow all procedures in compliance of Accuenergy (Canada) Inc standard policy and operation regulations
  • Any other operation-related responsibilities may be added as company continues to grow
