Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR’s Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices. In the role of Electrical Engineer we'll count on you to:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in general electrical design of buildings/infrastructure
  • Knowledge of design for Department of Defense facilities
  • Prior Department of Defense experience
  • Knowledge of the Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7, ACI Standards, AISC Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria
  • Be willing to submit to a background check
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule) and AutoCAD
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical technical and engineering support in the design of the building systems (Power, Lighting, Grounding, Lightning protection)
  • Provide support in engineering evaluations and recommendations for improvements
  • Provide in-depth assessments and cost estimates for electrical projects
  • Design electrical systems based on the DOD/Tinker AFB specifications
  • Provide technical reviews of Submittals, Requests for Information and internal design drawings
  • Participates in final on-site inspections
  • Support the other disciplines as needed
  • Provide support to the Damage Assessment Team (DAT) program.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
