About The Position

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an Electrical Engineer 5 to serve as technical project lead for the next-generation attack submarine electric plant. Reporting to the E11 Manager of the Future Propulsion Electrical team, this position operates autonomously and coordinates across multiple disciplines and organizations to drive electric plant design. The engineer serves as the primary technical liaison with the customer and provides management with insight on budget, schedule, training, and material considerations throughout the design phase. Success is measured by customer acceptance of the electric plant design and its integrated power generation and delivery interfaces. The role also mentors and develops internal talent to support future naval propulsion plant designs.
