About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4 or more years of experience in consulting engineering and project management for its Honolulu location. The role involves designing electrical and lighting plans and specifications for various building types. The successful candidate will work closely with the electrical department and other engineering disciplines to coordinate deliverables, contribute to marketing and business initiatives, and be comfortable consulting to architectural practices. This position offers the opportunity to work on a multi-discipline engineering team and impact the built environment.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum four years of consulting electrical engineering experience
• Project Management experience is required
• Must be able to obtain U.S. Security clearance
• Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Local architectural/engineering community experience is desired
• Department of Defense design experience is desired
• Registration as PE (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and lighting plans and specifications for a variety of building types
• Work closely with the electrical department and with other engineering disciplines to coordinate deliverables for our clients
• Contribute to Coffman’s marketing and business initiatives as needed
• Work independently and also collaboratively with others
• Experience with site investigations to verify existing conditions
• Experience with reviewing contractor submittments and performing construction observations
• Supervising, estimating, and negotiating contracts
• Supervise and manage projects of varying sizes
