Requirements

  • 3A Level: Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical Program and 5 years of experience, or 9 years of equivalent experience in lieu of the degree
  • Current Employees Only: Demonstrated solid or better results for at least 2-years and works independently in assigned areas of knowledge and skills
  • Current Employees Only: Demonstrated ability to assist and mentor junior engineers on technical, as well as, HU/THU fundamentals
  • Current Employees Only: Demonstrated solid or better results for at least 2-years
  • 3B Level: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field and 7-years professional experience
  • Current Employees Only: 1-year as Engineer 3A
  • Current Employees Only: Has completed assigned skills and knowledge development training (applicable Advanced Engineering, EPRI, and Constellation University training or industry provided training) to develop expert level of knowledge in designated areas

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear)
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers in key knowledge and skills.
  • Proficiency in leading cross functional initiatives at an asset/plant.

Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of Power plant operations while acting as a resource and technical expert to engineers.
  • Responsible for technical decisions.
  • Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.
  • Possesses specialty skills and performs advanced tasks independently with minimal supervisory review.
  • Performs engineering tasks independently and actively imparts expert knowledge to others.
  • Manages and implements engineering analysis and technical programs.
  • Makes technical decisions within accountabilities.
  • Defends the plant design and licensing basis.
  • Prepares and approves design outputs and plant changes in accordance with approved processes and design requirements.
  • Supports installation and testing of plant systems and components and facility changes.
  • Ensures the plant's physical and functional characteristics are accurately reflected in the plant documents.
  • Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.
  • Provides technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
  • Provides complete task management of engineering issues.
  • Performs engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision applying general engineering principles.
  • Performs independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects.
  • Recommends equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
  • Directly and through subordinates, fulfills engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs that impact site operations and reliability.
  • Implements Procurement Engineering processes and programs that comply with Engineering design and technical specification requirements for Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Performs independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
