About The Position

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design of the building's electrical systems, such as lighting, power, and specialty systems, and prepare electrical construction documents. This role involves leading the design of power distribution, medium voltage and below, and working with 115 kV and higher. The engineer will manage the creation and completion of accurate construction documents, including preparing working construction document drawings, material listings, and specifications. A key aspect of the role is reviewing and ensuring compliance with code requirements, such as the NEC and energy codes. The position requires performing routine design tasks, working on varying portions of projects, and collaborating closely with the Project Manager to maintain the established budget. Proficiency in design software and the ability to incorporate designs into project documents are essential. The engineer will research and apply building code, energy, regulatory, and industry code requirements. Responsibilities also include conducting field audits, surveying existing conditions, and recording information about building components. Collaboration with multi-disciplined teams across multiple offices and direct client interaction for presenting design work are expected. Compliance with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures, promoting a positive working environment, and performing other assigned duties are also part of the role. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also lead designers and less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university or similar is required.
  • 5+ years of experience is required.
  • Proficient in code requirements (compliance with NEC and energy codes).
  • PE Experience working as a Lead Electrical Engineer is required.
  • Attention to details.
  • Must be familiar with NEC, Fire Alarm, Power Design, low and medium voltage, and lighting design.
  • Experienced with working with other engineering disciplines.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, specialized design software).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
