About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the development of advanced military systems. This position is well suited for an engineer with a broad electrical engineering foundation, hands-on interest in circuit design and hardware development, and a desire to continue expanding their technical depth. The successful candidate will contribute to electrical design, analysis, integration, and test activities throughout the product development lifecycle. Work may include schematic development, circuit analysis and simulation, component selection, PWB design support, board bring-up, laboratory testing, and troubleshooting. For candidates interested in developing further in the RF domain, this position will also provide opportunities to gain increasing exposure to RF/microwave circuit design, analysis, simulation, integration, and test.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance (clearance not required to start)
Fundamental understanding of electrical circuit design and hardware development
Experience developing, analyzing, or interpreting electrical schematics through professional work, internships, research, or academic engineering projects
Familiarity with schematic-capture, circuit-simulation, or other electrical CAD tools
Understanding of electronic components and ability to read and interpret component datasheets
Familiarity with laboratory test equipment and basic circuit test and troubleshooting techniques
Basic understanding of RF/microwave fundamentals or demonstrated interest in developing RF/microwave engineering skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary engineering team
Bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering or related STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; or PhD and 1+ year of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

Experience with Mentor Graphics/Siemens EDA or similar schematic-capture and PWB design tools.
Experience supporting PWB layout, fabrication, assembly, board bring-up, or troubleshooting.
Experience with circuit design, analysis, component selection, and hardware development.
Coursework, research, internship, or professional experience involving RF/microwave circuits, antennas, or electromagnetics.
Familiarity with RF/microwave components such as filters, amplifiers, mixers, switches, attenuators, and frequency-conversion devices.
Familiarity with RF measurements including S-parameters, impedance matching, insertion loss, return loss, or antenna measurements.
Experience or familiarity with RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and RF power meters.
Familiarity with circuit or electromagnetic simulation tools such as SPICE, ADS, Ansys HFSS, Ansys SIWave, CST, or similar tools.
Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC concepts.
Familiarity with PWB/PCB manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing, assembly, and test.
Experience developing electronics for high-reliability, military, aerospace, or harsh-environment applications.

Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and test electrical circuits and hardware for military applications.
Develop and review electrical schematics using electronic design and schematic-capture tools.
Perform circuit analysis, simulation, component selection, and design verification.
Support PWB layout and work with board designers to implement electrical design requirements.
Support board bring-up, hardware integration, laboratory testing, and troubleshooting.
Identify and resolve board- and system-level electrical performance, interface, component, and integration issues.
Support RF/microwave design and analysis activities involving RF signal paths, amplifiers, filters, switches, transmission lines, impedance matching, and frequency-conversion circuitry.
Support electrical and RF testing using applicable laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, and other test equipment.
Collaborate with electrical, RF, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Document designs, analyses, test results and support technical reviews and program milestones.
