About The Position

The Enterprise Research and Development (ERD) organization is seeking an early-career Electrical Engineer to support rapid prototyping, technology exploration, and proof-of-concept system development. This role is hands-on and project-driven, focused on evaluating emerging technologies and translating ideas into functional hardware. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, adaptable, and motivated to learn across multiple electrical engineering domains.

Requirements

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • 0-3 years’ experience
  • Foundational understanding across multiple EE domains: analog, digital, and basic RF or embedded systems
  • Experience designing, building, and debugging circuits (breadboard, prototyping, or PCB-based)
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD/Allegro or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret component datasheets and apply them in practical designs
  • Exposure to lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, signal generators)
  • Basic programming/scripting capability (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar) for test and data analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and incomplete requirements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is a plus, but not required
  • Strong preference for candidates with hands-on academic or personal projects (e.g., senior design, internships, hobby builds, research labs) demonstrating end-to-end system development

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and iterate electronic circuits and subsystems (analog, digital, RF, and power) for proof-of-concept and prototype platforms
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout for rapid-turn prototypes and evaluation boards
  • Conduct hands-on bring-up, debugging, and validation of hardware designs
  • Plan and execute experiments to evaluate new technologies and architectures
  • Analyze test data and communicate findings through concise technical reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, systems) to integrate prototype solutions
  • Support multiple concurrent small-scale projects with shifting priorities and timelines
  • Contribute to transitioning successful concepts into more mature development efforts

Benefits

  • medical coverages
  • 401k
  • paid time off
  • excellent work schedules including a 9/80 work week
