About The Position

Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in Menasha, WI. This role is responsible for designing and specifying electrical and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies for products in the renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets. The Senior Electrical Engineer will support the Design Engineering team in the design and qualification of electrical components, sub-systems, multi-level assemblies, and system architecture for energy industry products. This position will collaborate with other disciplines to understand customer and market requirements, design for manufacturability and assembly, support the Product Development Process, and assist with service and aftermarket needs. Key skills include understanding high-level requirements and translating them into detailed requirements and designs, adhering to drawing standards, Change Notice practices, and creating Bills of Materials. The Product Engineering Team focuses on transforming ideas into real-world products and solutions for Excellerate Products™, a division of FTI, covering areas like Data Center power distribution and Electric Vehicle charging skids.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • 8 years of product design experience preferred
  • Working knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)
  • Design experience with low voltage electrical circuits and PLC controllers
  • Electrical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action experience
  • Design experience in electrical components or equipment within the energy industry preferred
  • Design experience with programming languages and controls software preferred
  • Manufacturing and field support experience preferred
  • Proven ability to lead designers and other engineers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to designers and less experienced engineers in design activities.
  • Reviews technical drawings and electrical specifications to ensure proper application of products within electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Supports the design of electrical components and sub-systems for power/low voltage products including component selection, wire harness creation, assembly design and installation.
  • Performs complex design calculations to ensure design compliance with project requirements or reviews others work for correctness.
  • Studies and understands related government and industry standards that govern the products being developed.
  • Produce relevant documentation needed to meet project goals, electrical schematics, electrical component prints, electrical assemblies, and compliance documents.
  • Interacts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis.
  • Participate and present technical information during design meetings or reviews.
  • Supports the creation of 2D prints and 3D models for piece parts components.
  • Supports the creation of complex 3D layouts of top-level and sub-level assemblies.
  • Help develop product Bill of Material structures to allow for modularity and configurability of products.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials and prepare Change Notices to release components and assemblies.
  • Support costing activities to ensure pricing targets are achieved at the project level.
  • Supports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products.
  • Self-checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed.
  • Works with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs.
  • Supports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
