About The Position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer Production Liaison to support its Hypersonics line of business and the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) program. The role provides production-focused engineering support to help ensure designs can be produced and manufactured within facility capabilities and constraints. The engineer supports rapid system-level integration and troubleshooting, resolves technical issues encountered during assembly, integration, and testing, and works across engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. The position also contributes to non-conformance investigations, engineering documentation, and continuous improvement in manufacturability, production yield, and operational throughput.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and test methods, including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzer, and Power Meter.
  • Knowledge of test procedure development.
  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with test, quality, and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience with manufacturing and production of avionics components.
  • Knowledge of test development to support troubleshooting hardware failures.
  • Knowledge of National Instruments software.
  • Experience in a MIL-STD-810 test environment.
  • Experience supporting DoD programs related to missile systems, reentry vehicles, or hypersonic technologies.
  • Prior work in assembly, integration, or testing of missile systems.
  • Experience supporting rapid development, prototyping, or fast-paced engineering programs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Engineering Team to ensure designs are producible and manufacturable and align with manufacturing facility capabilities and constraints.
  • Resolve technical issues arising during assembly, integration, or test in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate the effects of engineering changes on manufacturing schedules, tooling, processes, and costs.
  • Troubleshoot production-floor build issues, recommend rework solutions, and escalate critical problems.
  • Conduct non-conformance investigations.
  • Prepare or co-author engineering documentation, including MRB dispositions, rework instructions, and redline drawings.
  • Interface with engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), production yield, and operational throughput.
  • Provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for system-level integration.
  • Process post-test data.
