About The Position

The Electrical Engineer will define and either directly manage or participate in teams executing improvement projects as directed by the strategic plan and plant leadership. This role involves participating in reliability improvement teams and providing pro-active direction on optimizing existing equipment to support aluminum casting, rolling, and finishing processes. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring appropriate Preventative Maintenance (PM) is implemented and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) technologies are utilized to ensure the reliable operation of the facility's high and medium voltage power distribution system. Additionally, the engineer will participate in expansion project teams to review and provide guidance on current and future expansion activities regarding power distribution needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with medium and high voltage power systems, including Plant Power Distribution, Switchgear, and Transformers.
  • Ability to sit 3, stand 3 and walk 2 hours daily.
  • Ability to stoop, climb, kneel and use ladders or stairs daily.
  • Ability to lift no more than 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use computer & telephone daily.
  • Ability to work on unlevel, unstable, and slippery surfaces.
  • Good vision, hearing & speaking abilities necessary.
  • Must read, write, measure, draw conclusions, create methods, conduct research, develop plans, direct & evaluate others and do difficult math.
  • Ability to work indoors, outdoors, at a desk or in a control room daily.
  • Familiarity with chemicals, vibration, extreme heat & cold, dust, dirt, fumes and noise.
  • Knowledge of electrical process theory combined with team-based organizational management techniques.

  • Previous industrial co-op experience is preferred.
