Kimley-Horn's Orlando, Florida (FL) office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their MEP team. This is not a remote position. The role involves supporting the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team, specifically working on large-scale projects. The engineer will lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for MEP projects, and be responsible for the development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams. Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices, is expected. The position also involves preparing project specifications and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas, and assisting in mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand the MEP practice. Responsibilities include the development of reports and design documents, equipment selection, and power analyses. Coordination with specialists for fire alarm, technology, and lighting design, as well as with architects and other engineers for equipment power needs and electrical distribution sizing, is also required.
