RRC is seeking an Electrical Engineer IV specializing in battery energy storage systems (BESS) to support U.S. and Canadian energy projects. The role can be performed remotely or from one of RRC’s U.S. or Canadian office locations. RRC is a multidisciplinary engineering firm focused on energy projects, particularly renewable energy, and provides employees the opportunity to contribute to projects shaping the energy production landscape. The engineer will lead utility-scale BESS engineering design and execution from conceptual development through construction and commissioning. This includes serving as a technical lead, reviewing and stamping electrical design packages, overseeing power system studies, approving engineering deliverables, managing project scope and resources, and coordinating with clients, utilities, EPCs, vendors, and internal teams. The position also supports procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup, and contributes to engineering standards and business development. The successful candidate must hold a U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license and have at least eight years of progressively responsible experience in BESS or related power engineering. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field is required. Periodic travel within the United States, approximately 10%, is required as project needs dictate.
