About The Position

RETTEW is seeking an Electrical Engineering student to join its Facilities and Construction team for a Summer 2027 internship. The intern will gain practical experience supporting electrical design for facility, infrastructure, utility, energy, and construction projects, working with experienced engineers and technical professionals from early evaluation and design through documentation, coordination, and construction. Assignments will be matched to the intern’s coursework, capabilities, and development during the summer. The role includes supporting electrical system planning and design; assisting with electrical load information, equipment data, and basic engineering calculations; developing and updating design drawings and documents; researching equipment, materials, codes, standards, and manufacturer information; and helping prepare specifications, cost information, reports, calculations, and construction documents. The intern will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in drawing reviews and quality-control activities, and assist with construction-phase tasks and occasional field or facility visits while following safety requirements. The internship runs from May 17 through August 13, 2027, and is based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with a hybrid workplace designation. Work is expected to be approximately 90% office-based and 10% field-based, involving in-office collaboration, design and documentation work, virtual coordination, and occasional project or facility visits. Occasional business travel may occur; driving is not an essential function. RETTEW is a 100% employee-owned engineering consulting firm that has served clients since 1969. Its multidisciplinary teams work across infrastructure, facility design, utilities, renewable energy, environmental services, and construction. The internship offers project experience, professional mentorship, and insight into consulting engineering career opportunities. RETTEW is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides reasonable accommodations during the application process upon request.
