About The Position

Zipline is hiring an Electrical Engineer Intern for its electrical engineering team, which designs, builds, and tests electronics and software for its flight and ground systems. The team works on custom circuit boards, end-of-line (EOL) testers, sensor integration, real-time flight control, and communication systems, collaborating with mechanical, test, embedded, software, and systems engineering teams. The intern will be a full member of the team and will work with the team to identify projects that align with the intern’s goals and interests as well as company priorities. Potential projects include prototyping battery-charging electronics for harsher environments, designing ground-support electronics for aircraft take-off and landing, developing test equipment for design validation and production, supporting avionics design-validation campaigns, and investigating product issues found in testing, flight, or field operations. The internship is full-time and in-person at Zipline’s South San Francisco or Dallas office. The Summer 2027 internship is expected to run from May or June through August or September. The hourly rate is $44. Additional benefits may include relocation support, a housing stipend, overtime pay, paid sick time, and other benefits where applicable and subject to local requirements.
