The Role: Are you interested in contributing to the early development of a complex electro-mechanical instrument? We give you an opportunity to work on state-of-the-art printing technology for marking and bar code printing applications. In this role, you will work with mechanical and electrical engineers and technicians to develop a controller for a breadboard of a new printer. The controller will provide thermal regulation of 3 thermal zones, read up to 6 sensors, and control up to 10 actuators. The goal is to allow easy and rapid iteration of different concepts. The controller should be flexible and easy to understand, use and modify after the completion of the internship. It would be based on either a Raspberry Pi, Arduino or STM32. We are looking for a driven electrical engineering student with training and experience in embedded systems, and microcontrollers. Because we want to leverage work done in another division of the company in France, French language skills are useful.
