This position is for an Electrical Engineer III who will be responsible for performing all aspects of complete designs for small and large electrical and instrumentation engineering assignments. The work will be performed under general supervision, utilizing theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. The role involves familiarity with department design and drafting standards, understanding project scope, and recognizing/communicating scope and design changes. Responsibilities include on-site assistance during startup, producing preliminary designs and material take-offs, creating detailed design calculations and sketches, and ensuring efficient use of construction materials with an emphasis on ease of construction and client satisfaction. The engineer will also check calculations made by others, assist the drafting group, consult with other disciplines, advise senior engineers on design changes, and help assemble project packages for procurement. Reviewing vendor drawings, developing construction specifications, and performing fieldwork for data gathering and construction support are also key duties. The role provides technical guidance to less experienced personnel and requires knowledge of discipline-specific methods, practices, and techniques for process and manufacturing projects, applying advanced engineering techniques to complex designs. Specific tasks include producing installation details, single lines, layouts, elementary diagrams, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts, and grounding, lighting, power, and instrumentation plans. Developing conceptual layouts, cost studies, and small work-sharing packages for interoffice execution are also part of the role.
