LED FastStart•Metairie, LA

About The Position

The Electrical Engineer III Distribution leads and participates in developing and implementing electrical designs for industrial and commercial electrical utility facilities. The role reviews or prepares data and uses specialty programs to support electrical design, leading electrical requirements through conceptual, preliminary, and final engineering phases and potentially operational support. It coordinates work across disciplines and contributes to project management by working with project managers and clients, obtaining field data, interacting with equipment vendors, attending project meetings, establishing project standards, and helping develop project design criteria. The role also coordinates and directs engineers, designers, and drafters to complete project work. Work includes designing power distribution systems at low, medium, and high voltages, as well as lighting and lighting power systems. The engineer prepares plans, technical specifications, reports, calculations, and cost estimates; incorporates equipment data into design documents; and promotes compliance with company and client standards and best practices. The position may require field work and travel to project locations, with the duration determined by project requirements and logistics.
