About The Position

Design electronics for demanding space and tactical applications. As an Electrical Engineer III, you will take ownership of hardware development from requirements and circuit design through board bring-up, integration, and verification. Depending on your strengths and project needs, you will develop cryocooler control electronics, FPIE electronics for space applications, or power management electronics for tactical systems. We are seeking an engineer with strong analog and/or digital design skills who enjoys solving challenging technical problems and turning designs into reliable, tested hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant electronic hardware design experience.
  • Demonstrated strength in at least one area: analog/mixed-signal design, digital hardware design, or power electronics.
  • Experience taking circuit or PCB designs from concept through prototype bring-up and verification.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture, circuit analysis or simulation, and laboratory test equipment.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve hardware design issues.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned designs and communicate technical decisions clearly across engineering disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles.
  • Ability to evaluate electrical systems, components, materials, and applications.
  • Ability to develop practical, efficient, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to internal teams and customers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other cross-functional team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the following; expertise in every area is not expected:
  • Space, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability electronic hardware.
  • Cryocooler controls, motor-drive electronics, or closed-loop control systems.
  • FPIE electronics, precision analog signal conditioning, or high-speed low-noise mixed-signal design.
  • FPGA-based digital hardware, embedded processor interfaces, or high-speed digital design.
  • DC/DC conversion, power distribution, protection circuitry, or power sequencing.
  • Worst-case analysis, component derating, radiation effects, or high-reliability component selection.
  • EMI/EMC design, environmental qualification, or hardware qualification testing.

Responsibilities

  • Own circuit and board-level designs, including requirements definition, architecture, schematic development, component selection, and PCB layout guidance.
  • Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, and/or power circuitry aligned with your expertise and assigned products.
  • Perform circuit simulations and design analyses to verify performance, margins, and reliability.
  • Lead hands-on board bring-up, troubleshooting, integration, and design verification.
  • Develop test procedures and document results demonstrating compliance with product requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical analyses, design review packages, and engineering recommendations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware/software, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver producible, reliable hardware.
  • Support qualification, production transition, and resolution of hardware issues.
